Work With Us
AI Engineering Fellowship
Location: In-person, Midtown Manhattan
Type: Paid Fellowship | Full-time or part-time considered
Duration: 10–12 weeks
Start Date: June 1 (preferred)
Overview
Join a high-impact, experimental initiative using advanced AI to counter disinformation and antisemitism. This fellowship is designed for engineers and technical thinkers eager to work fast, solve meaningful problems, and contribute to a first-of-its-kind effort within a nimble nonprofit team.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking technically exceptional individuals who are self-motivated, capable of independent execution, and excited to operate in an environment defined by urgency and experimentation. Ideal candidates will have:
Enrollment in a leading computer science or engineering program, or equivalent experience through projects, internships, or open-source contributions
Strong software engineering fundamentals (data structures, systems programming, algorithms)
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go)
Experience with AI/ML tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, LangChain, or Pinecone
Comfort with ambiguity, high tolerance for iteration, and a strong sense of ownership
Why Join
This is a builder’s role with real ownership and urgency.
Impact: Work on real-world problems with immediate relevance
Autonomy: Define and execute your own weekly deliverables
Visibility: Influence strategy and potentially seed future ventures
Pace: Operate without bureaucracy in a mission-driven, agile team
What You’ll Do
Fellows will be embedded in a fast-moving, experimental team where they’ll operate like engineers at an early-stage startup, pushing the boundaries of how advocacy work can be done in the AI era. You will:
Build experimental tools using LLMs, multi-agent systems, generative media, and real-time monitoring frameworks
Stand up weekly software prototypes — from AI-powered research assistants to synthetic content engines — and present your outcomes
Collaborate directly on technical strategy, including feasibility analysis, opportunity mapping, and iterative planning
Lead internal knowledge sharing through live demos, code walkthroughs, and technical documentation
How to Apply
To apply, please submit to fellowship@ai-ap.org:
A resume or LinkedIn profile
Portfolio, GitHub, or links to relevant work
A brief statement outlining your interest and qualifications
(Optional) A short note about an AI tool or system you admire, and why
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected candidates will complete a brief technical challenge and interview.
